Harissa

Harissa is popular throughout N. Africa and is used liberally as an all purpose condiment, gracing table as a bottle of Tabasco might in this country. You can use it in it's powdered form but we suggest you add just enough hot water to form a paste and then whisk in some best quality olive oil and perhaps a squeeze of lemon until the desired consistency is achieved. Perfect with grilled chicken or lamb and couscous.  Contains cumin, coriander, caraway, guajillo chiles, smoked paprika and garlic.
